The Gala will focus on the aesthetic perception adopted by Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019, throughout his 65-year career. The Met's special curator, Andrew Bolton states that the exhibition will not be a traditional retrospective and that Karl Lagerfeld always looked to the future in his own designs and did not like to look at the past.
The exhibition, which will be held from May 5 to July 16, 2023, will present 150 original views and sketches.
