In Nigeria, the public can receive an average of 4 hours of electricity per day, and the majority of people meet their energy needs with generators. Ulaş Aslan, the Nigerian Project Coordinator of the Turkish company AK-AY Electricity operating here, stated that "a substation has been built to meet the entire energy demand of the state of Nasarawa" and underlined that the substation can meet the load demand of 240 megawatts. The project, worth $28 million, took 3 years to complete, with delays due to COVID-19.
