Developed the EDIS system that predicts earthquakes

A system has been developed to provide precautionary measures by notifying the earthquake in advance.

EDIS was introduced at Yıldız Technical University Yıldız Technopark Congress Center by EDIS Co-Founder and CEO Ali Emre Erişen. EDIS, an integrated system that detects the earthquake on site with high technology and takes autonomous measures by sending a warning to the region before the earthquake; It was created with the collaboration of 4 companies, such as Apti, Sentez, Hubbox and Seismic AI. With the Artificial Intelligence-based system, it is aimed to minimize the damage that people can suffer and to encourage people to take protection measures against natural disasters.

It is expected to prevent large-scale financial losses in industry and businesses. Erişen stated that with this system, people can now be informed of the devastating effect of the earthquake, created by the fault line that broke kilometers under the ground, before it spreads to the earth. Expressing that when the fault line is broken, two waves are formed that act like sound waves propagating in the air, adding, “If the sensor of the early warning system is attached to the building, the first emitted P wave may inform the destructive effect of the earthquake before the destructive S wave reaches it. With EDIS, it is now possible to gain extra time, depending on the distance of the earthquake source, by catching the earthquake at the time of occurrence, without waiting for the earthquake tremors to arrive in the settlements," he said.
