The competition was first organized in 2005. “Polytechnic University of Bucharest” organizes the competition. World’s largest companies such as Microchip, IBM, Fujisoft and Mitsubishi are the sponsors of the competition.
“Robochallenge Romania 2019” was held on November 01 - 04, 2019 at Polytechnic University of Bucharest. 158 teams, 615 participants and 533 robots participated in the competition this year. The number of participants increases every year. A record was broken this year compared to last year. Robochallenge grows each year by adding different categories to the competition. The participants struggled to win in 14 different categories of competition. Mega Sumo, Mini Sumo, Micro Sumo, Nano Sumo, Humanoid Sumo, Line Tracker, Line Tracker Enhanced, Maze, Football, Humanoid Robot, Freestyle Showcase, Air Race took place in the categories and also Mini Sumo and Line Tracker was there for children. Robots with new generation technology in every category, which have been awarded in many competitions in the country and internationally also competed.
Istanbul Gelisim University Vocational School participated in the international competition in Bucharest with a team of two students Abdullah Yıldırım and Onur Yılmaz, and Lect. Ekrem Süzen. They represented Turkey and our University successfully in 2019 in Romania by competing with the team of England, France, Greece, Japan, Bulgaria, Colombia, Ecuador, Latvia, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Spain and Thailand. The Robot designs of Gelisim Vocational School, which performed quite well in the competition, received great admiration from the participants and the jury members and received the special jury award.

th JURABOT Krasiejów 2020” to be held on May 2, 2020 in Poland.
