The General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry turned to technological projects in many areas from pesticides to livestock. In R&D and innovation policies, it is aimed to increase production and efficiency by facilitating the lives of farmers with a digital technology infrastructure. TAGEM General Manager Nevzat Birisik has given a speech about the agricultural sector which will be digitalized with the help of sensors, “With the agricultural tools and fields equipped with sensors, the farmers are informed in which field and what kind of fertilizer they should use, weather conditions, the amount of mineral and irrigation needed by the plant, the condition of the soil, the estimated harvest and more and we aim to maximize efficiency by providing detailed information on issues such as above. In this way, producers have the opportunity to manage and monitor the entire planting area with smart technology devices while they minimize labor power and production input costs and provide high quality and high amount of products.”
