A Camera Capable of Shooting in the Dark was developed with Photon Diode Technology
New image sensors developed by Canon can detect light successfully even in completely dark environment.
The sensor developed by Canon can detect 10 times more light than conventional sensors, even in almost dark environments. The first prototype of this sensor technology called SPAD was produced in 2020, and it is based on the fact that a single photon entering the sensor's pixels strengthens and converts it into a large amount of electrical energy pulses. In this way, quality images can be provided even in low-light areas.
