According to the information obtained from the data of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, a licensed generation capacity of 3 thousand 446 megawatts was put into use in a year in Turkey. Wind power plants which make up 51.5% of this capacity have a total power of 1772 megawatts, and solar power plants which make up 14.5% have a total power of 498 megawatts. Apart from these, biomass and geothermal power plants meet 16.6% of the capacity, and hydroelectric power plants meet 14.5%.
