Recently, the concept of ”metaverse" has been passing on many platforms. This concept, which many information technology giants, including Facebook, have started to invest in, has recently become very popular. (It is also used in many universities in the Republic of Turkey in some courses according to its suitability.) In short, the answer to the question of what is the metaverse can be given as follows; in order to understand the concept of the metaverse, it is necessary first of all to look at the meaning contained in the word itself. "meta“ is expressed in Greek as a word that means ”after, beyond". Metaverse, derived from the word meta and the words “universe” in English by juxtaposing and combining, also means “transversal” in the most general sense. (Although it is expressed as such –transversal- it does not go further than science fiction with the current level of science and technology.) So what is to be explained by the term ”transversal“, i.e. ”Metaverse"? To explain in general and briefly, the Metaverse is a name given to a collective virtual sharing space created by combining all digital worlds, that is, a fictional (virtual) universe in which all digital worlds are located. According to many people, it will be possible to reach this Metaverse, which will be created in the future, through virtual reality or augmented reality. (In such a way that the past and future can be expressed in a certain proportion in a numerical environment within the information that is or will be possessed.) The metaverse approach was first mentioned in the novel Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. In the novel, a three-dimensional virtual world with avatars of real people was called the Metaverse. (The metaverse is at least four-dimensional in structure. Because there are different times involved. This is the fourth dimension of time.) The next stage of the Metaverse will be the transformation of the created virtuality into a real, tangible, i.e. tangible structure and shape within certain scales.
