Computer-Aided Design And Animation

 What is Motion Capture?

Realism and interactivity are becoming increasingly important in visual media fields such as film, video games and animation. This demand encourages artists to produce more creative and realistic works. This is where motion capture technology comes into play. Motion capture is a technology that digitizes real-world movements and has revolutionized the art world. Motion capture is a technology that measures and digitizes the real-world movements of a player or a moving object. This technology captures motion data in real-time using special cameras, sensors, processors, and software and renders it animated in a computer environment. This system captures motion data via small sensors or tracking points placed on moving objects.

These sensors precisely detect data such as 3D position, velocity, and inclination and transmit it to a computer, digitally recording the motion. The recorded data can be used to simulate the movement of a character or object. This technology is considered a turning point in the art world. It is used in the film industry to combine the actions of actors with monsters, creatures, or other fictional characters. In this way, it is ensured that the actors interact more organically with the characters they play. Likewise, it allows characters in video games to move more realistically and to connect more naturally with players. Motion capture has also made a huge impact in the animation world. The characters move more realistically and fluently in cartoon and computer animation productions. Animators can capture the movements of real actors or moving objects and transfer this data to digital characters. Thus, the gestures and facial expressions of the characters become more believable.
