Ancient Turkish Legends Will Turn into Animation in Kazakhstan

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan on May 4, Kazakh Animation Creative Association operating under the Ministry will make animations about ancient Turkish legends among Turkish-speaking peoples.

Kazakh Animation Creative Association within the Ministry will focus on the common values of Turkish-speaking peoples. The association plans to shoot at least ten animation works by addressing topics such as great Turkish personalities, warriors, sacred animals, national games, sacred places, and common holidays of Turkish peoples, which have an important place in Turkish culture. The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan established the Kazakh Animation Creative Association last year to develop the skills of local animation experts and to provide support in the design of animation projects. The association works to support the domestic animation industry and make it competitive in the international market. Ancient Turkish legends are an important part of Turkish culture and history. These legends reflect the beliefs, myths, and stories of the Turks about their ancestors and past. These legends were often transmitted orally, and various versions emerged over time. The legends were formed during the periods when the Turks led mostly nomadic lifestyles and therefore focused on subjects such as nature, animals, stars, family, and love. Legends often emphasize values such as heroism, loyalty, honesty, and justice, and these values still hold an important place in Turkish culture. Some of these legends are well-known works such as Oguz Kagan Epic, Bozkurt's Birth, Alp Er Tunga Epic, Köroğlu Epic, and Dede Korkut Stories. These legends are among the oldest and most important examples of Turkish literature and are still considered as a part of the cultural identity of the Turkish people today.
