 Turkish Technic Company Sues Spicejet for $14.5 Million


THY Teknik A.Ş, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines (THY), filed a $14.5 million lawsuit against SpiceJet, headquartered in India. The reason for the lawsuit was explained as the non-return of the emergency parts that had to be returned as per the agreements and loaned out, and the invoice issued for this was not accepted. The incident occurred in 2022 and THY Teknik A.Ş. It provided spare parts on loan to SpiceJet, a low-cost airline company based in India. The parts with a total value of 14.5 million USD were not returned, but were not returned as per the agreements, and THY Teknik A.Ş. The invoice was also not paid. Thereupon, THY Teknik A.Ş. He filed a lawsuit in the High Court of England and Wales for SpiceJet's breach of the agreement.

In the case in question, THY Teknik A.Ş. While Clyde & Co, one of the largest law firms in London, represents the SpiceJet side, it has been learned that Dentons UK and Middle East represents the SpiceJet side.
At the hearing held on February 28, 2023, the Supreme Court postponed the case to a later date for the collection of case files and the completion of the investigation.
