Rize-Artvin Airport to Be Opened at the End of the Year

Rize Governor Kemal Ceber stated that the construction of Rize-Artvin Airport continues at a rapid pace, that the average level of 94 percent in terms of infrastructure and 97 percent in terms of filling has been completed, and that the airport may be put into service at the end of this year.

He continued as follows about the superstructure works:

"We have reached the level of 37 percent there, too. We use the touches of Rize in the superstructure. The airport entrance tag will be in the form of tea leaves, the tower will be in the form of a tea glass, and the terminal building will be an architecture that uses stones and fillings unique to our region. A terminal building that reflects the Eastern Black Sea architecture from the outside. We will see a lot of touches from Rize inside the airport. There will be a tea museum inside."
