 Ongoing strikes at airline companies in Spain


Since the flight crew of Ireland-based airline Ryanair could not reach an agreement in the collective bargaining agreement in Spain, the pilots of the Swiss-based Easyjet airline have been working only on weekends since August 8, between Monday and Thursday. goes on strike.


Due to strikes, cancellations and delays by Ryanair employees, passengers at 10 airports in Spain are having a hard time. It was reported that 6 more flights of Ryanair were canceled on 22 August due to the strike, and 28 flights were delayed in the morning. Ryanair cabin crew will continue their strike until 7 January 2023 if their demands in the collective bargaining agreement are not met.
 
On the other hand, 74 flights connected to this airline were canceled due to the strike of Easyjet pilots, first on 12-13-14 August and then on 19-20-21 August. Pilots, who want their salaries to return to the level before the Kovid-19 outbreak, will continue their strike on August 27-28-29.
 
In addition, cabin crew of Spanish airline company Iberia Express will go on strike from 28 August to 6 September due to the failure to reach an agreement on salary increase demands.
 
It is expected that the employees of Lufthansa and British Airways, who do not accept the reduction of their salaries, will be added to the strikes at the airline companies.
