Hasan Polatkan Airport, Turkey's only 'university airport', serves approximately 100 thousand passengers annually, including Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands as well as pilgrimage and Umrah flights.
Operated by Eskişehir Technical University (ESTU), the airport went down in history as the first in the world and the only 'university airport' in Turkey with the operating license it received in 2007. Rector Prof. Dr. Tuncay Döğeroğlu said, "There are around 20 flights a week. Before the pandemic, our annual number of passengers was around 100 thousand. Despite the pandemic last year, 47 thousand passengers benefited from our airport."
