 FRAPORT and TAV Partnership Started Antalya Airport Project


TAV Airports and FRAPORT partnership became the best bidder with 7 billion 250 million Euros (excluding VAT) in the tender held for increasing the capacity of Antalya Airport and for the 25-year operating right covering the period from January 2027 to December 2051. TAV and FRAPORT partnership will pay 25 percent of the 25-year rental price in advance. TAV and FRAPORT partnership as well as VNUKOVO-INTEKAR Yapı partnership participated in the tender held at the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI).


Antalya Airport, which was put into service in 1960, served 35.7 million passengers in 2019 with its domestic and international terminals and two parallel runways with a total area of ​​178 thousand square meters. The partnership of TAV and FRAPORT will increase the capacity of the airport to 80 million passengers annually, with a total investment of approximately €765 million, of which approximately €600 million will be in the first stage.
It has been announced that the first phase of the project, which has been approved by DHMI and will consist of 3 phases, will be carried out between 2022-2025, the second phase between 2028-2029 and the third phase between 2038-2039.
A new state guest house and VIP building will be built at the airport. The new general aviation and cargo terminals to be built will be located to the south within the airport borders, their entrances will be arranged and they will be separated from the main entrance of the airport. The works planned to be completed within three years, except for the 'T3 International Lines', will be carried out without affecting the operation and the facilities completed within the investment period will be put into service. In addition to the existing power generation facilities installed within the airport, a 4 megawatt solar power plant (GES) will be installed. The new terminals will aim to obtain LEED Gold certification based on energy efficiency.
