While Turkish Airlines Anonim Ortaklığı (THYAO) was expected to announce a profit of 6.8 billion TL in the second quarter of 2022, it announced a net profit of 9.1 billion TL. Thus, its profit in the first half of the year reached TL 11.3 billion.
According to the announced balance sheet, THY increased its equity by 28 percent and increased its sales by 264 percent from TL 31.4 billion to TL 114.5 billion. While there were 5,683 pilots in 2021, this number dropped to 5,499 for the same period. The number of cabin crew increased from 12 thousand 153 to 12 thousand 499.
