Discussions on the report “Abuse of the Schengen Information System as a Politically Driven Sanction by the Member States of the Council of Europe” were held in Strasbourg last week at the PACE. The report submitted by AK Party Deputy Ziya Altunyaldız, a member of the PACE, was accepted by the commission. The report will be presented to the General Assembly and will become a recommendation.
In the report accepted by the PACE commission, it was stated that 4% Schengen visa refusal in 2014 increased to 12.7% as of 2020, unnecessary and too many documents are requested, fees are high and there should be no obligation to apply face-to-face.
