Rize-Artvin Airport to Be Opened at the End of the Year

Rize Governor Kemal Ceber stated that the construction of Rize-Artvin Airport is continuing rapidly, that an average of 94 percent in terms of infrastructure and 97 percent in terms of filling has been completed, and that the airport may be put into service at the end of this year.

He continued his statements about the superstructure works as follows:
"We have reached the level of 37 percent there, too. We use the touches of Rize in the superstructure. The airport entrance tag will be in the form of tea leaves, the tower will be in the form of a tea glass, and the terminal building will be in the form of an architecture using stones and fillings unique to our region. We will see a terminal building reflecting the Eastern Black Sea architecture from the outside. There will be a lot of touches from Rize inside the airport as well. There will be a tea museum inside."
