Emirates has so far operated more than 23,000 flights to and from Turkey and carried 6 million passengers.
Emirates first started flights to Istanbul on 31 July 1987. It carried more than 15,600 passengers in a year on its twice-weekly flights with Boeing 727 type aircraft. Emirates currently operates 18 flights a week from Istanbul Airport on Boeing 777-300 aircraft.
