Aircraft Fuel Produced from a Mustard Family Plant in the USA
At the end of a four-year study in the United States (USA), it was stated that a plant from the mustard family can be used in the production of aviation fuel, namely kerosene, and its carbon emission is 3 times less than petroleum-based fuel.
As a result of the research, it was determined that this fuel obtained from the mustard plant species released at least 68% less carbon dioxide gas compared to normal kerosene. This study, which is seen as a “groundbreaking” development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) against other petroleum type fuels, was carried out by scientist Assoc. Dr. Made under the leadership of Puneet Dwivedi.
