Saab, one of the well-known names in the aerospace industry, recently signed an extension agreement with Boeing, which envisages its continued participation in 787 aircraft production. This development will enable the continuation of production of large cargo doors, bulk cargo doors and access doors for the widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Saab has worked with Boeign since 2004 as a leading defense and security company that designs, manufactures and maintains advanced systems for aerospace, weapons, command and control, sensors and underwater systems. At the same time, Saab has a rich history of providing key aviation structures for a wide variety of aircraft programs in both the military and commercial sectors. Saab, one of the well-known names in the aerospace industry, recently signed an extension agreement with Boeing, which envisages its continued participation in 787 aircraft production.
This development will enable the continuation of production of large cargo doors, bulk cargo doors, and access doors for the widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Saab has worked with Boeign since 2004 as a leading defense and security company that designs, manufactures, and maintains advanced systems for aerospace, weapons, command and control, sensors, and underwater systems.
At the same time, Saab has a rich history of providing key aviation structures for a wide variety of aircraft programs in both the military and commercial sectors.
In parallel with the developments in the sector, the doors to be produced for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will primarily consist of advanced composite materials.
These doors are not just ordinary components; they are some kind of engineering marvel. Saab has added several high-end systems to the composite structures of the doors.
The result is lightweight doors that are not only durable but also easy to install. This innovation fits perfectly with Boeing's vision of the Dreamliner, an aircraft that redefines efficiency and the passenger experience.
This strategic choice not only enhances the aircraft's performance but also reflects Saab's commitment to innovation.
