 The Importance of Experienced Crews in Cabin Crew is Increasing Day By Day

A UK-based Easy jet airline has announced that it will recruit cabin attendants over the age of 45.
In the world and in Turkey, situations such as the termination of the contracts of flight attendants or supervisors, who are in a certain age range, for reasons such as being forced to retire or lack of performance, for the purpose of hiring new personnel to replace the old personnel we are generally accustomed to and to reduce worker costs, have been encountered frequently. On the contrary, the company has increased its recruitment rates for cabin crew over 45 years by 27% since 2018. Last year, the same company provided a 30% increase in the recruitment of cabin crew over 60 years old.
In a survey of 2000 people in England, it was revealed that 78% of retirees over the age of 45 wanted to fly, and in the answers given by those who participated in the survey, it was revealed that among those who wanted to be cabin crew, teachers were in the first place, health workers were in the second place, and retired cabin crew members were in the third place.
Seeing the world more after retirement was one of the reasons why they wanted to work as cabin crew. We understand these results from the positive answers given by 63% of the respondents.
In another survey conducted by Easy Jet, the question of which profession would you like to do was asked, and the answers to this question are quite interesting;
Reception 16%
Cooking 18%
Public service 22%
Craftsmanship 24%
Airline cabin crew 26%
Librarian 27%
Teaching profession 28%
Paramedic 39%
We do not know whether it will show the same developments in your airlines such as THY, Pegasus or Sun Express in Turkey, and it may create a domino effect that will show us the upcoming time periods.
