European Union (EU) officials gave 10 days to remove 7 Russian banks from the international money transfer system SWIFT. Russia's largest banks Gazprombank GZPRI.MM and Sberbank SBER.MM, which are used to pay for Russian oil and gas that EU countries continue to buy, were not included in the list and were not removed from the SWIFT system.
