American automaker Ford, like its other competitors, is too focused on the electric vehicle business. Opened a new high-tech facility for the production of electric vehicles in Cologne, Germany. With an investment of 2 billion dollars, the factory was prepared for new-generation vehicles.
The number of vehicles that the factory will remove from the production line annually is more than 250,000. The facility has a production line, battery assembly line, and automation systems. The Explorer model introduced by the company will be the first electric vehicle to be produced at the facility. Following this vehicle, a sports crossover model will begin production at the plant.
The Cologne Electric Vehicle production facility is the first carbon-neutral facility opened by the company globally.
In the statement made by the company officials, it was emphasized that the facility will be one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly facilities in the entire sector.
More than 18 million vehicles have been produced for more than 90 years in the modernly renovated factory.
All of the electricity required to meet the energy needs of the facility is provided by renewable energy sources.
According to the company's statements, when the factory goes into production, it will produce with a carbon-neutral certificate.
Technological updates at the company's factory in Cologne will also help improve biodiversity and ecological balance. So much so that, thanks to the innovations to be made, long-lived plants will take their place around the facility and will replace biologically weak and weak plants, thus ensuring a balance in the animal population.
