Otokar, which has made major R&D investments in the defense industry of our country and reaped the results of this, has showcased another new vehicle. Arma II 8x8 vehicle was introduced with many new features and equipment. In contrast to an imported engine, a 720 hp domestic engine alternative has also come with this model. Anadolu Agency was able to display the Arma II 8x8 vehicle for the first time.
Otokar General Manager Serdar GÖRGÜÇ stated in his statements to the agency that they introduced the first Arma vehicles in 2006 with the export success they achieved with 4x4 vehicles in 1987.
Indicating that they designed the new vehicle as 6x6 and 8x8, GÖRGÜÇ said that they have contributed to the export figures of the first Arma family since 2015. He stated that they have recently delivered 400 units of Arma vehicles, which are produced entirely with own resources, to the United Arab Emirates.
Görgüç said, "We started working on a variant of Arma 2 years ago in line with the evolving needs, adaptability to many different platforms, different tasks, and demands for higher protection against increasing threats."
He stated that they designed Arma II, which will have higher protection capacity, more interior volume and higher usage diversity in the new version of the Arma family.
Görgüç said, "The most important difference of Arma II from Arma is its carrying capacity. Arma has an axle carrying capacity of up to 30 tons, while Arma II has 40 tons. Therefore, we provide higher protection against both mine and kinetic energy threats. " said.
