An Important Move from TCDD for the Future

TCDD, one of the important institutions of our country, has started a new program to combat climate change and to make a move for a more livable and sustainable world. The institution, which plans to expand the use of renewable energy with this program, will prefer solar and wind, which are the most preferred renewable energy sources today.

Solar panels and windmills are planned to be installed on TCDD's own stations, stations, transfer centers, logistics bases and on the lands along the rail line. In this situation, structural analyzes and project design studies were started for all these regions. These studies are carried out by taking into account many factors such as energy efficiency.

Thanks to the renewable energy sources planned to be built until 2025, it is thought to meet the amount of at least 35% of the energy consumed by all vehicles used on the railway.

TCDD is preparing to take a step towards not only renewable energy but also electric vehicles. The establishment of charging stations that will enable the charging of electric vehicles at all stations belonging to the institution will be started. The institution, which has started working on this, will carry out the installation of these stations in 75 stations, which it has determined as its first priority. It is planned in the project that the charging stations to be established will be powered by renewable energy sources.
