The aim of Institut Français Turkey, which started the French Translation Awards in 2021, is to encourage the translation of published works from French to Turkish and to highlight the translation profession. Institut Français Turkey also published a manifesto in 2021 in order to strengthen the position of translators in the Turkish book and publishing industry.
Translators are irreplaceable mediators who pursue everything that brings cultures together and establishes lasting bonds between them. Reading a good translation makes you feel like you are reading the author in his/her own language. Institut Français Turkey has created a “French Translation Award”, appreciating the role of translators and announcing who will receive the 2022 French Translation Award.
