“TYT IS NOW AN EXAM MORE THAN A KNOWLEDGE EXAM”
Guidance Specialist Pelin Karahancı, who evaluated the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) held on 27 – 28 July, said, “The most important critique of this process, YKS, which has been constantly changed due to the pandemic, has caused great problems for students. One of the most important things to say about the exam process is; it was a lot of questions with depth of meaning in all fields. This leads to the following conclusion: TYT is now much more than a knowledge exam. Because the importance of how students struggle with long paragraphs and questions with depth of meaning has increased in a certain period of time. Students can no longer distinguish which question is Turkish and which question is Mathematics, because the rate at which verbal reasoning ability is measured has increased. In other words, reading, understanding what you read, being able to connect with real life, being able to analyze correctly is important for the exam, so students who will prepare for 2021 YKS can spend their holidays by reading a lot, "he said.
