June 1 is International Child Protection Day.

International Child Protection Day, which was established in Paris in November 1949 by the decision of the Congress of the International Democratic Women's Federation and was first celebrated in 1950, is celebrated on 1 June every year.

Child Protection Day is organized to draw adults' attention to the observance of children's rights such as freedom of thought, education, protection from violence and the right to life. Like the state, parents should recognize and respect children's rights and freedoms. This is stated in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the UN in 1959.
