 Turkey's First Aircraft Factory Will Be Restarted


Turkey's first aircraft factory, TOMTAŞ Aviation and Technology AŞ, will reopen in Kayseri with an investment of approximately 205 million liras in the production of aircraft and helicopter parts.


Turkey's first aircraft factory, TOMTAŞ Aviation and Technology AŞ will reopen in Kayseri with an investment of approximately 205 million liras in the production of aircraft and helicopter parts. The unfinished TOMTAŞ adventure of the Turkish aviation industry will turn into a contribution to the Turkish aviation industry by establishing a factory at the Melikgaz center in Kayseri. Established by ASFAT, Erciyes Technopark, Turkish Aerospace Industries, and TOMTAŞ Investment Trust, TOMTAŞ Aviation manufactures important assembly parts such as fuselage, wings, doors, control surfaces, landing gear, propellers, helicopter rotors, and engine parts. For this purpose, approximately 205 million TL will be invested. The annual production capacity of the object to be built is 420 thousand kilograms.
                    Machinery and equipment worth 10 million 207 thousand 500 dollars are brought to the factory. Considered a "regional investment", the device offers several incentives such as interest support, tax exemption, VAT exemption, 7-year employer contribution, 80 percent tax refund, and 40 percent investment contribution. TOMTAŞ Aviation and Technology Inc. starts to work, and 50 people are expected. While work continues at the facility, research is being carried out to create a qualified workforce. In this context, recruitment processes are carried out for the positions of CMM Quality Control Specialist, CNC Operator, Production Manager, Cad-cam Engineer, and Quality Manager. The history of TOMTAŞ Aviation and Technology Inc. dates back to the 1920s. After the establishment of the Turkish Aeronautical Association in 1925, steps were taken to establish an aircraft factory. Considering the need for capital and technical personnel, a partnership was established with German Junkers.
