Ercan Airport Countdown for New Terminal

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said that the new terminal of Ercan Airport in Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Cyprus (TRC), will open on 20 July.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said that the new terminal of Ercan Airport in Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Cyprus (TRC), will open on 20 July. Vice President Yılmaz made his first official abroad visit to the TRC. Yılmaz was welcomed by TRC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, and officials. Yılmaz, who landed at Ercan Airport, was greeted with drums, horns, and flowers.
Cevdet Yılmaz, who thanked me for the acceptance ceremony, said, “I have been to the TRNC many times before. I first became part of a technical training program while working as a specialist in a national planning agency. We worked here with our friends in a state planning agency. Since then I have been here several times as minister and deputy. This time, I would like to express my great pleasure to be here as the Vice President and the Vice President responsible for relations with Cyprus.” Yılmaz stated that he had many contacts and meetings and said, “The most important and valid one is Ercan Airport. You know, when our President came, he said very clearly that this project should be finished and that he wanted to land at this airport on 20 July. Soon we will explore the new terminal building together. We hold technical meetings. We will visit from tomorrow morning. I want to express this too. We call it the "Turkish Century". We call it "the first cabinet of the century in Turkey". The first protocol signed by our President was the protocol on economic and financial cooperation between Turkey and Cyprus. I wish him luck too. This is clear proof of our President's love for the TRC and the Turkish Cypriots."
