The F110 Turbofan Engine, which was considered for the National Combat Aircraft, was given to Turkey by the USA. The delivered engine will be used in the MMU prototype. Abdurrahman Şeref Can, Head of the Aircraft Department of the Presidency of Defense Industries, made critical statements during the 9th Air and Avionic Systems Seminar. Can said that the F-110 engine, which will be realized in the prototype of the National Combat Aircraft, developed by TAI and planned to leave the hangar on March 18, 2023, was given to Turkey.

First of all, the development, stated by SavunmaSanayiST.com, is of critical importance for the successful realization of the engine supply, which is the most difficult stage for the National Combat Aircraft. While it is not known how many F110 engines have been delivered to date, there is information that 10 engines will be supplied for test activities. It is thought that 3 MMU Block 0 and 1 MMU Block I prototype will be produced by TAI. It is thought that 8 of the 10 F110 engines intended to be supplied by TAI will be used in these prototypes (two engines per aircraft), and the remaining 2 engines will be supplied for spare purposes.
