 TURKISH CARGO TAKES PART IN THE CEIV LITHIUM BATTERY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM ORGANIZED BY IATA




Being one of the leading companies in Air Cargo logistics, Turkish Cargo took part in the 'CEIV Lithium Battery certification program organized by IATA, known as the International Air Transport Association.
Turkish Cargo, an air cargo company owned by Turkish Airlines, took part in the 'CEIV Lithium Battery certification program organized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to certify the competency needed for lithium battery products to perform logistics activities properly. The inclusion of the company providing logistics services in this certification program, which consists of training, evaluation, and validation steps, became official through a signing ceremony held within the framework of the symposium.
Turkish Airlines General Manager (CEO) Bilal Ekşi made the following statements regarding the certification program they are involved in: ‘’ As an air cargo company operating on a global scale, we attach great importance to maintaining the supply chain of lithium battery products. We are also trying to fulfill our responsibilities regarding the care issue. For this reason, it is a source of great pride for us to take part in the CEIV Li-batt certification program, which is recognized as one of the highest standards in the world. This new CEIV Lithium Battery certification program demonstrates Turkish Cargo's commitment to high-quality standards. It also underlines once again our commitment to provide safe, fast, and secure air cargo services to our customers’’.
International Air Transport Association (IATA) Cargo Division Global Head Brendan Sullivan expressed his thoughts on the subject by making the following statements:’’ The European freight market, accounting for almost 25% of total global trade, is among the largest existing markets worldwide. The CEIV Li-batt certification of Turkish Airlines, which is among the largest air cargo service providers in Europe, is both a very serious and very important support to fulfill the demands of the senders for the healthy and appropriate logistics activities of products containing lithium batteries ’’.
