Sabiha Gökçen Airport, which has carried out intensive support shipments to the region since the earthquake occurred, provides cash support of 100 million TL to the people affected by the earthquake through AFAD, Kızılay, and AHBAP.
After the earthquake disaster that took place in Kahramanmaraş on February 6 and affected 11 provinces, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport continues its aid to the region by declaring an aid mobilization. Sabiha Gökçen Airport, which carries out its activities in coordination with different institutions to deliver the support provided to the earthquake area regularly and appropriately, donated 5 million Euros, approximately 100 million liras, to the people affected by the earthquake through AFAD, Kızılay, and AHBAP.
Since the day of the earthquake, the planes departing from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport have been carrying out intensive support shipments for the people affected by the earthquake. Until the first ten days after the earthquake, 127 thousand 277 personnel were transferred to the earthquake zones by 803 aircraft that took off from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and 135 thousand 563 citizens affected by the earthquake were evacuated via 738 aircraft that landed.
Thanks to the “Your Support Gives Strength” campaign launched within the scope of Sabiha Gökçen Airport, 17 tons of aid materials were collected with the contribution of organizations and employees within the body of Sabiha Gökçen. After these materials were shipped to Kızılay's headquarters in Antakya, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport Management made the following statements: ’’ To support our brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake, to maintain the spirit of solidarity and to heal the wounds, we provide 5 million Euros of support to our citizens affected by the earthquake, in the form of Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Malaysia Airports Holdings, through AFAD, Kızılay, and AHBAP. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure that the aid sent to the earthquake area is delivered’’.
