 AIR CARGO WILL DETERMINE THE NEW DIRECTION OF TRADE


According to the results obtained from the reports published by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), while the volume of air cargo in 2019 decreased by 3.2 percent compared to the previous year, this rate increased by 6.9 percent compared to 2019 and reached 52 million tons in 2021.

Global supply problems and changing consumer preferences during the pandemic have increased the demand for air cargo with the advantages it provides in terms of speed and reliability. Considering these increases, it is expected that the amount of cargo transported by air cargo will reach 68.4 million tons by the end of 2022. It is thought that the income obtained from the said increase will reach the level of 191 billion tons.
